Louis XV style chair
I made this Louis XV style chair two months ago, based on a full scale one I had seen on the internet. I used limewood to build the frame. Limewood is a relatively soft wood which is good for making miniatures as it has a nice straight grain and is easy to cut.
For the seat and the seat back I used a cotton quilting fabric. I upholstered the armrests and the frame of the chair with hand dyed silk.
I am now working on a matching Louis XV sofa.
I colour- coordinated the upholstery of the chair with the curtains in the salon of the canal house I am working on. A perfect match!
The Chair is stunning. What a wonderful job you've done, it looks so real..
