Shaker style sewing box
This week I finally finished a miniature which I had started some time ago: a Shaker style sewing box. I copied it from a full sized one I had seen pictures of. The original sewing box was 19th century from Pennsylvania.
A blog about making and collecting 12th scale dollhouses and miniatures.
Beautiful work Josje! Love the cherry wood and the William Morris interior.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little box. You have so many lovely details in it that it just look so real
ReplyDeleteI am 'speachless'....!!!! I was working my way through the photos thinking, well when is she going to show us the miniature one....and you already were!! It is a "Masterpiece", wonderful, wonderful work Josje....wow!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I never dared to used wood although my dad used to build ships and he knows how to bend wood with steam.Your work is really wonderful, absolutely perfect

Ha sido un trabajo perfecto. Se trata de un costurero precioso. Felicidades
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! I enlarge all your pictures, and even mega-size every little detail looks perfect. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteA lot to see, so complete, but the ultimate detail for me is the paper lining in te box, which is neatly tucked between the outside wood and it's self. Again, the setting does your work justice and completes the illusion
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is just perfection! Wonderful, wonderful work!

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your sweet comments. It is surprising how we all like simple things, like a round wooden box. For me it is the combination of the round shape and the gorgeous wood that does it for me. Plus the fact I love all kinds of sewing related articles...
ReplyDeleteBegoña, you can make whatever you like, as long as you enjoy what you are doing ;-)
